Rain City Foot Care, PLLC is a nurse-owned business providing mobile routine foot care services in the Edmonds, WA area. As certified foot care specialist nurses, we are specially trained to provide care to people with mobility issues, diabetes, vascular issues, and more. We are a mobile clinic! We can provide foot care in private homes, nursing facilities, group homes and more using our own sterilized equipment.
What is routine foot care?
Routine Foot Care consists of toenail trimming/debulking, reduction of corn/calluses, removal of the problematic area of an ingrown toenail, provide padding for comfort measures (some padding may have a small additional fee), foot & lower leg lotion/massage, foot care education, and referral to an appropriate provider, if necessary. Care is provided by a professionally trained and certified Registered Nurse by the American Foot Care Nurses Association.
Who needs routine foot care?
This intervention is needed for patients who cannot perform normal foot care due to vision, orthopedic, mobility, or neurologic deficiencies. This care is also necessary for those who may have co-morbid conditions that lead to vascular, neurologic or dermatologic disorders and are therefore at high risk of trauma or infection from inadequate foot care.
Certified Foot Care Specialists (CFCS) are nurses who receive advanced training to provide routine foot and nail care for people who are unable to do so on their own. Care is provided to address patients’ lower extremities in various settings, including clinics, long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, and in the community, in patient’s homes.
CFCS’s perform focused lower extremity assessments (paying attention to the moisture, temperature, color, and pulses of the feet), take comprehensive health histories, develop initial patient-centered plans of care, perform ongoing plan evaluations and modifications, and deliver preventive care.

About Us
Rain City Foot Care, PLLC was started by Melissa Cohen, RN, MSN, CFCS to provide high quality professional routine foot care to senior citizens in their homes or in clinic settings. I have been a Registered Nurse since 2002 and have worked in a variety of settings including homeless outreach where I provided foot care to a vulnerable population of folks living unsheltered. I have also worked in settings such as medical/surgical, labor & delivery, case management, and as a school nurse. In 2009, I earned my Masters in Nursing with a focus on Health Promotion and I am a member of the American Foot Care Nurse’s Association. I live in Edmonds, WA and enjoy working in our beautiful city, meeting my neighbors through Rain City Foot Care.
